If churches are failing, how can they be improved

I have that task, although I am not part of a local denominational staff hierarchy. The first thing is to seek God's Kingdom and Righteousness, and trust that the ascension gifts of Ephesians 4 will flourish. Eph 4:8-16 Wherefore he says, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity...

Satan is NOT the Devil - Cheol is NOT Gehenna (Hell)

Critical theology reeks of humanistic revisionism.

What is your view of creeds and confessions?

He's not alone in that, by any means.

Some Christians in Aotearoa New Zealand Like To Embrace Matariki

The encouragement for some Christians in New Zealand to embrace Matariki —the Māori New Year—stems from a desire to engage meaningfully with Aotearoa’s bicultural identity while remaining faithful to Christian convictions. In 2025, the Matariki public holiday in New Zealand was observed on...

Satan is NOT the Devil - Cheol is NOT Gehenna (Hell)

Yes, there are sinister motives behind attacks on the veracity of Scripture. This verse comes to mind: Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Satan is NOT the Devil - Cheol is NOT Gehenna (Hell)

Sure, there's always the need to examine whether someone, or some cult, is "speaking lies in hypocrisy". The term theology is not confined to things biblical, which is why I always qualify whether it is Biblical Theology being expounded, or an alternative to it.

Satan is NOT the Devil - Cheol is NOT Gehenna (Hell)

Theology of a kind that Satan loves to deceive with, I strongly warn. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” (NKJV)

You're a Newbie here, I'm an Oldie who comes and goes intermittently. I'm not sure if critical theology is my thing but welcome anyway.

Why did Jesus command Peter to "feed" His sheep? - Sheep are grazing animals. ???

Psa 23:1-2 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (2) He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. Psa 100:3 Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

    Mary as New Eve

Paul was right to be concerned for those in the ekklesia at Corinth, There is a progression of the serpent/seduction typology in the warnings of future apostasy, and the metaphorical great whore of Babylon.

What are some of the reasons people don’t like going to church buildings or institutionalized churches?

Tangential arguments don't carry any weight no matter how much they are used, and by whom. Any course of Bible study that doesn't include the use by God of literary devices is sadly lacking. 2Pe 2:17 These are wells without water, clouds driven with a tempest, for whom the blackness of...

What are some of the reasons people don’t like going to church buildings or institutionalized churches?

No argument. I pick up any instances where members go beyond the scope of the metaphor and point their error out to them Exclaiming that someone is toast for messing up the jigsaw you were working on is an idiom that relies on actual toast being a cooked slice of bread. The metaphor carries the...

What are some of the reasons people don’t like going to church buildings or institutionalized churches?

No metaphor works if its related material or conceptual counterpart doesn't in fact have an analogue, in Scripture or otherwise.
