What is YOUR "thorn in the flesh"?

Yes, the point of the Book of Job is that true faith will last, even under the most severe suffering.

What is YOUR "thorn in the flesh"?

@PGS11, it sounds to me that he has already given you eternal life, since he has put that hope in you. I too hope for that day when Jesus returns and when he gives me a resurrection body that will have no imperfections, all by his grace.

What is YOUR "thorn in the flesh"?

Then, @christs-love, since you're not a nobody in God's sight, you can be his prayer-warrior!

What is YOUR "thorn in the flesh"?

That's where God's gift of peace comes in, @Gottservant (Philippians 4:6-7). Php 4:6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will...

Was the Transfiguration a vision, or an actual appearance of Moses and Elijah?

My thoughts are, @St. SteVen, that I agree with you. It definitely was a real experience, to which Peter later testifies: 2Pe 1:16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 2Pe...

To the only God our Savior

Typically, the New Testament writers use the title "God" for God the Father, while they refer to Jesus as "Lord." The Hebrew word "Yahweh" is three Persons in one God, as the Gospel of John clearly shows. Jesus definitely identifies himself as the second Person of Yahweh in the account of the...

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

@Triumph1300, if you compare the three lists of spiritual gifts in Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4, you will discover that the gift of speaking in tongues is only mentioned in one. Therefore, a good conclusion is that the lists are descriptive of those churches' gifts and that only...

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

However, @Hobie, if you study 1 Corinthians 14, there is a gift of interpretation of tongues so that other hearers may understand the meaning. But you are right to say that not everyone has that gift of tongues. Paul in Romans 12 and Ephesians 4 mentions spiritual gifts without any reference to...

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

I think that you might be right, but notice the Lord's evaluation of humans after the Flood and the future destruction in these verses: Gen 8:20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. Gen...

My advice is never stop praying of your family, because my dad came to believe in Jesus at the age of 77!

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

Amen,Hobie! That's Calvinism in its best form.

    Is writing your hobby?

I hope that your tracts will be used to bless many people, @Hey You!

Why are Christians leaving their churches?

That's true, if tongues lead them to use them unbiblically or to lead them to pride or OSAS leads them to fatalism or pride, which is not Calvinism but a misunderstanding of it.
