Personal Statement of Faith
I was raised in the church and asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life at age 13. But by my late teens, I had drifted far from Him. I chased the world—partying, rebellion, even ending up in jail—and tried to fill the emptiness in every wrong way. I ran from God, even literally avoiding preachers at my door. Deep down, I believed I couldn’t live the Christian life and thought it would steal all the fun.

But God didn’t give up on me. My mother prayed for me constantly, and in His grace, the Lord brought genuine believers into my life—men who lived out the love of Christ. That love got my attention. In November 1985, broken and tired, I knelt by my bed and asked the Lord to forgive me, to help me change, and to lead my life. I rededicated my life to Christ, was baptized again, and have been walking with Him ever since—not perfectly, but with His grace every step of the way.

Jesus changed me. I couldn’t have done it myself. I’m now a husband, a father, and most of all, a forgiven child of God. I look forward to the day I’ll be with Him forever. Until then, I keep seeking Him, because the more time I spend with Him, the more I become like Him.

1 Timothy 1:15 – “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.”

All glory to God.
