Anyone going to watch the Presidential debates?

Cool, I kinda thought it was too big of a task to accomplish, but I learned something new :)

In wilderness areas there is no motorized vehicles allowed... only horses and mules but helicopter is only exception.

Those are not maintained whatsoever...

California doesn't have wilderness areas... Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming and the Dakota's do. I can't remember about oregon and washington...they might have a little bit.

But mostly federal forests... cascades, sawtooth... that sort of thing. Used by people a lot so they keep them clear of ground clutter with controlled burning and slash piles.

I have to admit that although I liked Trumps governmental plan much better than Bidens, I would say Trumps idea on California wildfires was way out there, I mean really, clear out the dead trees out of thousands of square miles of forest? How is that a good idea?

West coast is a unique area, for that reason you have to plan for fires that are going to happen....no question....going to happen. So you have to prepare the forest so you can manage the fire without standing in it. There is more than one Technic used for that but fire breaks is one of them. If you plan it right you are not really fighting the fire as much as you are preparing the ground ahead of the fire. You actually control the progression of the fire and let it burn itself out. For one that is safer for the fire fighters.

What an embarrassment to America and what an embarrassment to the Executive Office of the Presidency. It's downright distressing that the presidential election of the United States of America has been deteriorated and demoted to the point of shame and embarrassment. If it were up to me, I'd push to dismantle both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party or reorganize these parties from the ground up and start fresh at the very least. I think these two disgraceful political entities have had the monopoly on the Presidency of the United States for far too long and it is way past due that they are both shown the door. If such a political movement were to ever evolve in our country, it would have my support.

I have relatives in the fire fight right now. It would be nice if they controlled it first and made it safer for them. Sometimes I worry about them, I also have police relatives that have to deal with trickle down from the riots. I hear about this stuff all the time.

Cruder industrialized areas are always going to be the polluters. And again humans are not the contributor of global warming, but....but places like China and Russia are putting poisons in the air....
The other point is that one good volcano can equate to a 1000 years of human pollution.

Politics is a dirty business...not a huge fan but tonight was expected to be a brawl and it was...if Joe actually was smart he would have played it better...but Trump made his monkey dance and scored as many points as Chris Wallace did.

If Trump had calmed down and started communicating more... explained more in a more concise fashion he would have been better too. But he didn't.

No, I have to disagree. Republicans and Democrats are both hyenas because they're scavengers who thrive on causing chaos and dissension. The Republicans and Democrats are just as guilty as the other and neither one is blameless. It has come down to the matter of picking your poison or voting Third Party on November 3rd, just like it was on November 3, 2016. You can vote for one old liar or you can vote for the other old liar or you can vote Third Party and thumb your nose at the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. If more Americans were to thumb their noses at these two political parties, then our country just might have a fighting chance to reclaim and revamp our country's most vital political system.

In case you aren't aware, those "thousands of square miles" all have forestry roads. And those forestry roads are used for LOGGING.

OR, -- the "Forest Guardians" can shut down all Forest Management as in my community, where the fire in 2001 BURNED DOWN ALL THE TREES ON THE MOUNTAINS plus some 600 homes. -- Yeah, so much for the "Forest Guardians".

In the meantime our average daily temperatures raised between 5 to 10 degrees from the sun reflecting off the barren hills (our community backs up against the mountains). So I installed central air conditioning.

And some 20 years later, the hills now have some scrub oak, BUT NO TREES.

So it's really not a good idea to give them money to stop while hamstringing our industries and then they don't stop but actually increase production of these pollutants.
