A Fundamentalist worst nightmare...confessing their sin in the light. (In public)

Fundamentalist will not dare bring their sins into the light! The rest of us will! There is a lot of self-righteous fundamentalist on the Christianity Boards. I love you all, but you are in error...you value the Law over the Love of Christ. For all those who do not claim to be fundamentalist and instead worship the love of God, his mercy, his grace and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, post something you are guilty of. This post is for Christians only. I'm not scared in the least to bring my sins into the light. Only Fundamentalist do not do that. Don't keep your sins in darkness where the evil one will get a foothold.

Ps. Watch the fundamentalist, they will start posting scripture for defense. Because they are perfect. They have no sins.

I'll take the lead. In My Present:

These may not necessarily break the Law of the 10 Commandments and our Lord will convict me in his time, not your time.

1 I like to drink a few Nyquils before bed when I have a cold/flu (Yikes it has alcohol)
2. I am selfish at times
3. I love the taste of Copenhagen
4. I'm guilty of being obsessed with Jesus Christ as my Savior. (Oops, that is not a sin)
5. I eat PIZZA, WHICH IS SO UNHEALTHY! (Doesn't do the Temple of God well , the body)
By the way, I just ate a pizza at 09/27/2019, 1230am eastern time...5lbs overweight (teardrops)
6. Sometimes I get angry and say mean things to my spouse.
7. Sometimes I make promises i do not keep.
8. I sometimes put my boat before God (this makes me very sad)
No one is Perfect. Well Fundamentalist are....sigh

These definitely break the the law of the 10 commandments!
In my past (while I was still a Christian) I was Guilty of:

1. Adultery
2. Coveting
3. I think I stole a pen from work.
4. I'm sure there were more
I have repented of all these! And only God knows if I will get weak and fall flat on my face again.



Like I said, the Fundamentalist will try and use Law to minimize this post, they are perfect and self-righteous. I will take this back when they admit they are not perfect by naming something they are guilty of?

I think the biggest problem with fundamentalists is how they stereotype people! You know, label them and assume certain things about them. Really, stereotyping is a form of judging, and Jesus said NOT to judge. So, that's my take on it.

Oh the irony of it all! Only a "fundamentalist," which I assume applies to a person who takes the Bible seriously and tries to live by it, would take this verse seriously.

However, IMHO it's very foolish to confess your sins on a public forum. You have no idea who is reading your confession and what they may do with this information about you. It's much wiser to confess in a private setting to Christians that you know you can trust.

I've cut back on both, but eliminated neither. I don't consider them sinful, at least not at my present usual rate of consumption.

One of my worst sins these days is to desire to lash out at people on forums who cannot seem to get through their thick head that I am right. Sometimes I yield to the desire and do lash out knowing that it won't edify anyone.

I have the same problem. I am trying to cleanup my posts, trying to be more charitable. But it's hard when certain people stick to the same foolish straw man fallacies over and over again. I ignore as a last resort.

I am a Fundamentalist, but i'm not a self-righteous one. Fundamentalist take all scripture literally, when they can, and I am at liberty to disagree on some scriptures, there is not just one type of Fundamentalist, we can all vary on secondary doctrine. However, we need to be careful of not becoming self-righteous as I have seen some fall in this trap.

I'm sorry for the confusion in my post. My thoughts were aimed more at the self righteous, than the Fundamentalist.

Hi, PW, I feel your pain when it comes to those "ministers of justice" that are all to commonly found in our midst, but is it wrong to "judge" someone as whatever they demonstrate themselves to be? I don't think it's wrong to judge a rapist papist priest, a drunk, or a wife abuser as such if that is exactly what they are...now, to judge their ETERNAL DESTINY - well, that's another matter entirely; it's to what Jesus was referring when He said "judge not". But fruit inspectors? We are all called to be such. If the doctor calls it a rash in order to spare the feelings of his patient when it is really skin cancer, he's not helping, is he? King David said, "Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil that shall not break my head."

The KJV says "faults" not sins, which is a better translation, for what may seem to some to be a hair-splitting point: if we consider that a "sin" is "transgression of God's law" and consider also "against Thee and Thee alone have I sinned", it becomes clear that the only Person we can "sin" against is God (you and I have authored no law upon which we may transgress) and therefore, it is really "faults" that we should confess to one another...which may seem like a small issue, but when we consider that over a BILLION Christians are taught the only way to get forgiveness of sin is to go and confess them to a sinful priest, it really isn't that small an issue, it's colossal...after all, religious deception is the only thing ever drove our Lord to anger, right? Blessings :)

I think a fundamentalist would take all scripture as being the inspired, inerrant word of God, but not necessarily every single word in the Bible as being literal. There are obviously some metaphors used in the Bible. Jesus said that He is the door, but He wasn't literally a slab of wood. The liberal tendency, however, is to take literal events in the Bible as being figurative, like the flood or the miracles....

I think where we get into trouble is assigning an evil motive to behaviors that aren't inherently sinful when we don't really know what's in a person's heart. Perhaps this would be judging according to how things appear to us, which Jesus said not to do in
John 7:24.

Judging others is a very sticky topic. I don't have a problem calling sinful behavior sinful as long as God has made it clear that the behavior is a sin, like adultery, for instance. This is pretty cut-and-dried.
