Don't give in to that spirit of offense that is trying to rule in you...you are better than that....if people are rude leave that to God to deal with...let peace rule in your heart and the love of God be evident so that others will be receptive of what you are trying to share. I will keep you lifted up in prayer.

Thank you, it's very nice of you and honestly appreciated. God bless you.
Nevertheless what you say I must do, was just what I did do,

I without a <spirit of offence that is trying to rule> me, or being <rude> in the least, and with <peace ruling in my heart>, for <the love of God> with God's Word and nothing else, posted <trying to share> with <others>, yea, even <praying> they might be <perceptive> and <be lifted up>.

But what happened? —<not a thing gained>! Just judgement scorn and heckling.

No, I checked. It was this thread.
Yes it was this thread. But let us check with WillieT, he started this thread calling it, <It left me thinking...>. Now was he thinking about the methodology of theologians like the eminent Karl Barth's 'Dialectic Theology'?
From where, therefore, arrived you on here with your laughable caricature 'it's a dialectic'?

Man, woman, for heavens' sake, Why don't you take the easiest, the only, rout out of your predicament, and JUST SAY I WAS WRONG I AM SORRY? Do you perhaps think it will make you look un-Christ-like? God, be merciful to us all and make us ordinarily HUMBLE AND HONEST!

I simply meant that the little book "left me thinking" that there just might be a whole lot more in the Bible than just the "Standard Stuff" I was routinely taught by people who had been taught the same way. Not hidden mysteries, but just reading with both my eyes and mind open.

We came to this point because Nancy said, in essence, never answer a fool according to his folly, and you replied, in essence, answer a fool according to his folly.

If you can't see that there are all the verses that you gave about arguing and that there are verses on the other extreme ( shake the dust from your feet, never answer a fool according to his folly, etc.) Then you just can't see it. At least you are seeing the one side of the dialectic.

i would call that "mad," to differentiate it from actions that might be described as coming from "angry," or else ask was Jesus "angry" when he whipped them guys? Iow did His emotions just get the better of Him for a second?
Considering that we are told that He took some time to do this; He had to look around and gather the necessary materials, and then He sat down and took even more time to weave together a whip... I would say it was not an impulsive, spur of the moment endeavor.

ty, yes, i agree. Even as those getting whipped surely would not tho, right. They'd be all like "why are you so angry, why dont you just calm down, yadayada..."

Okay Mark, this is NOT righteous "anger" more like "rudeness" and putting down another brother or sister in an unkind and presumptuous manner. The Word says, be angry and SIN NOT and not to let the sun go down on this anger. Jesus was righteous in His anger because of the money changers...but His attitude was not "angry" mad" "nasty", "rude"...And, BTW-where do you see Jesus "whipping" anyone?

Maybe it did...God is always working behind the scenes. I believe you broke the devils power over this situation.

Actually, I don't think anyone "got whipped."
And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables.

but you dont believe it? So then go with that, ok with me

If a man thinks no one actually got whipped, but there was the threat of it with a whip flying around, what's wrong with that Byrd? And if you think maybe some got zinged by it, what's wrong with that? People do tend to run out of range if a whip sings around, you know. :p

I have always believed , and still do...that he made the whip to drive the cattle and sheep...I doubt very much if He beat them with it...I am sure He just flapped it at them to drive them out.

Ruh-Roh...you just might throw someone off with that big word :D (dialectic)
And, when reading Ephesians this morning, I was reminded of the scriptures I was trying to find yesterday:

Ephesians 4:30-32
"30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
