MD, it is not discussing. It is sharing spiritual insight into what is possibly causing some of your difficulties. But you don't like to listen to any counsel. That is a bad sign.

MD, if you were not trying to control what others post, then you would not be protesting as much as you do in the threads where you are asking for prayer. How many times have you been asking people pray for the same fears and stresses that you have had over the years.

Some of us have the gift of discernment and/or wisdom and try to share what might cause the problems. Most people are glad to get spiritual counsel, especially if it can help you to overcome your problems.

So, imo, why can’t you accept that he only wants prayer , why do you have to know the ins and outs of his prayer request, you may think you have the gift of discernment or wisdom....to the other poster , they may think the opposite, imo, ...the guy is private and he’s very non confrontational..unlike some of us.

After the argument he said he didn't feel well (made another topic). Perhaps it was because he argued with his mother? The Holy Spirit will convict someone if they do something against the Spirit.

Yes and only the Spirit can talk / prick our conscience regarding a wrong we have done.

Maybe you and another member here aren’t the Godly council that God speaks to him through, ..also depends how we deliver what we believe to be Godly council..I have never seen him behave that way...one of the most polite, non confrontational men on this forum,imo...all he’s doing is asking for prayer...then he’s met with questions...for me, I respect the guys privacy...I just pray for God’s will to be done, God knows his situation, I don’t need to...and I won’t point The judgemental finger at him either...been there, then God told me to look at the plank in my own eye..instead of judging the speck in theirs.

We all see things differently, as we can well see on this prayer request thread.

Well, that's passive aggressive. "Maybe" we are the Godly council that God speaks to him through!

I don't know how many prayer request threads I've posted in - dozens. And often when I post in such threads, I do not merely say, I'm praying for you." I actually write a prayer for the situation. This is the first one that ... hear me ... the Holy Spirit prompted me to draw out responsibility for the situation. Evidently, I'm not the only one, which encourages me to act/react to the quiet whisperer all the more.

And his insistence on us giving into his demand for prayer at the alter of God is going against God's words, which requires him to take responsibility first. He's not providing details but the root cause of his situation is generally obvious. They say confession is good for the soul. It is not for our benefit but his that he confess his role in causing his problems.

I will pray for you but not for your ask; I will ask the Spirit to come to you to help you find the strength to face the truth and do what you can to make your world better. (It is only in this context that people say, "all we can do now is pray." They've already taken responsibility to do all they can do.)

Having said that, I am troubled by your OP. You had a vague argument with your mom and you want someone else to take responsibility to "separate from all these problems and provide a safe place to live free from unnecessary tension." Perhaps this is necessary tension due to problems you hide. Don't you know being a Christian is not a guarantee of safety but going among wolves as sheep?

I saw that too, and that's why when I first prayed for Him, I said, Lord I don't know what your will is about this man or if these trials he is going through is within your will so I pray for your will for him and to bless him and give him the graces that he needs in this hour. Along those lines.

That way, I said a good prayer for him and didn't have to ask the guy if he'd air his dirty laundry, lol.. The way I figured it, if he wanted to give details then he would have...so maybe he don't want to.

All the guy did was ask for Prayer Brother!
