So how can you know if it’s the Spirit talking to you, if you don’t check out what you hear with scripture?
Plus how do you know to worship God in spirit and truth?

I never said not to ever read the bible, or look into scripture. Peoples faith become built on the scriptures however, when it comes to the holy spirit, and it given to people who are faith. What does it produce? You know the bible well enough to remember what has been read by yourself, and even without looking reminded of those things by the holy spirit, right? There are people out there that worship the bible, more than than do worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

What do you mean what does faith produce?
Maybe you mean, perseverance/ endurance, walking in faith with no sight, as in human eyesight,the eyes we have are spiritual.they also come from the Spirit of God...
Faith is gifted from the Living Spirit, supernatural faith, which develops and grows as we walk in the Spirit..we go through trials and tribulations , horrendous heart suffering at times, only the Spirit can keep me Persevering, as I’m Born Of God and his seed remains in me.

Faith must be exercised, to the extreme at times, my faith in God has grown beyond my comprehension .

If one thinks growing in faith is easy..,then they are far from the truth.

It’s not true… it’s a collective of God and his people their doings and happenings. It’s simply “The Bible.” Nothing more. If you disagree with an interpretation all of sudden you’re going against “Gods words or the word of God.” When all you are doing is disagreeing with an interpretation.

Why is that? Taught Tradition?

What you take out of it and use of it is at your discretion.

@MatthewG .. if the Spirit speaks to you, which he does to me also via the Holy Spirit, whatever you hear him speak, you best check it out with scripture , otherwise how can you know it came from Gods Living witness, who testifies Of God’s truth to our heart/ spirit?

Lots of deceiving spirits out there, Mathew..discernment is a wonderful gift from God.

Soon as I became Born Again , I went out and bought a Bible, then the Bible confirmed what I had testified to my spirit, via the Living Holy Spirit.


All words of scripture that I believe God speaks to my spirit, is 100% always checked with scripture...also remember that old man in us, pops up from time to time.

Any Bible will do, some people are contingent on which they prefer. Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. - Reading the bible is helpful in building up the faith of a persons faithful standing concerning their new lives in being born again. The bible is the bible though, and God's Word, was made flesh, name Jesus, born of the flesh and of the spirit.

I have over 40 different Bible translations. The Holy Spirit said to use the King James bible. I obey what the Holy Spirit says, it's a small thing. I have found the King James to be correct with its interpretation of scripture as opposed to other translations.

At anytime have I ever said its not good to read the bible? The bible is vital part of the persons building up of faith. You can tell me I am wrong that is fine.

Do you live by everything that is said in that book? That is my question. You do realize that good and the bad, that people use the bible for, claiming its "Gods Word." God's Word was sent down from heaven born of the flesh and spirit... not a book. I am not saying its wrong to use the bible, and anyone here who suggest I am saying that is most certainly wrong.

The bible is a greatest material gift, that God has allowed us to hold in our hands... but it is not Gods Word. It's a bible, a collection of writings of Gods dealings with men over time, which was written by men whom were inspired to do so by God.

It's pockets of who he is, his character, his personality, and his personal walk with mankind from Genesis to revelation. The Bible is God's word. Angelina, why is the bible called the bible and not "Gods Word, or Word of God?" It's called a Bible because that is what it is... a bible. I never purchased a GODS WORD publishing, or anything like that... Can I ask you a question? Why don't you also emphasize how Jesus Christ was the Word of God made flesh? This is not saying you don't believe in him or anything like I am simply just curious.

He is sharp, and he is still active in the hearts and minds of believers by the Spirit of Christ within them, given by the Father in heaven.

I believe people who believe they are looked up to, should give up that position. People should look up to God who is Spirit, and they should choose for themselves the route they will take. It is sad to see when people can no longer think for themselves, and are maligned by traditional ways of thinking. Genesis is a great book! It has a lot more than the first 3 chapters, lol! If you don't understand Genesis then you'll have trouble understanding much of the NT!

One time I remember I was having some sort of financial crises of the slow season and it was very important and I only until tomorrow evening to do whatever it was I forget what. But it was bad enough to pray about and I guess I was fervent enough because he did answer my prayer it was out of my hands. And He came through for me like a great God would! Praise the Lord Forever!

So I was witnessing this new testimony I had to my buddy and Brother in Christ and told him how the Lord has set a pattern with me, last minute never late. He wants us to keep our faith in Him to the last minute!

Patience is learned by having to deal with waiting.
Faith is grown, often by learning Patience.

So I just went in and visited my friend and didnt ask him for a loan! Learned something that day.

It does not offend God for us to ask someone for a little help...
It does not offend God to go to the Doctor or take some Meds that make you better.
Often God is working on our pride,,,, and that is necessary that it be resolved, most of the time, moreso then the prayer being answered quickly .......so, we get a double portion.
