In the parable of the 10 virgins we notice 5 are called wise and 5 are called foolish.

The foolish took no oil for their lamps
, but the wise took oil in their vessels to light their lamp. They were to await the Bridegrooms return, which represents the return of Christ.

The fact that they are all called virgins tells me they are all people of the faith in Christ.

Paul said in
2 Corinthians 11:2
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

So these 10 were called to keep themselves pure for the Bridegroom, which is Christ.

Also all 10 had lamps, which tells me all 10 had Gods written words.

In
Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

So the difference between the virgins was 5 wise had “oil in their vessels”and the 5 foolish had none, which then caused their lamps to go out.

The oil in this parable represents the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit which illuminates our eyes of understanding into Gods written words.

In the law God gave many types and shadows in natural things to symbolize and foreshadow spiritual truths to be revealed later by the Spirit.

In the law golden olive oil was used to light the lamp that burned in the tabernacle of the congregation. This light was meant to stay lit continually in the tabernacle of the congregation .

This light represents the Light of the Lord, which is to burn inside the individual vessels of the Church.

The golden olive oil was also to be used to anoint the ministers of the Lord, for to sanctify and consecrate them.
Jesus said in

John 17:17-19
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”

There are 2 types of wisdom, there is the wisdom that comes from above by God, and there is the wisdom of the world.

It is written that God made “foolish”the wisdom of the world, which partly explains why the 5 without oil were called “foolish.”

It is the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit that illuminates our understanding in Gods words.

Paul said in

Ephesians 1:17-18
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,”

So without the Holy Spirit you are left in the dark.

Paul said in 1Th 5:19 - Quench G4570 not the Spirit.

Notice the word Quench is the same as “gone out” in the parable.

Mat 25:8 - And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are “gone out.”G4570

In Revelation 2:5 Jesus said

5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent”

These were those who had left their first love and had fallen back into sin. They were in danger of having their lights put out.

So keep the faith and keep those lamps burning bright.

Peace and God bless

It's commonly supposed that the five unwise girls were stupid for not
bringing along enough oil for their light sources. That may be true, but I
rather suspect that their mistake was scarcely related to the oil and mostly
related to abandoning their posts.

Had they stuck to their guns (so to speak) they could've joined the
procession along with everyone else. They may have endured a measure of
chagrin for letting their lamps go out, but at least they wouldn't miss the
party.

In other words; they let something relatively minor distract their attention
from something far more important; sort of like Nero concerning himself
with trifles while Rome is on fire all 'round the city.

Matt 25:10-12 . . While they were on their way to buy the oil, the
bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the
wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Later the others also came. Sir!
Sir! --they said-- Open the door for us! But he replied: I tell you the truth, I
don't know you.

The thing is: while the entrance was open, the general public was welcome
to come on in and join the celebration, but once the door was shut and
festivities commenced, late arrivals were permitted inside only if they were
the bridegroom's friends; which emphasizes that the invitation, though
generous, offered a narrow window of opportunity which if missed, was lost
forever.

NOTE: It's commonly proposed the oil in the parable of the Ten Virgins
relates to the Holy Spirit, but had the five girls returned with the Holy Spirit,
the groom would've readily allowed them entrance because the Spirit is
depicted in the Bible as a credential validating one's inclusion in Christ's family
circle. (2Cor 1:21-22, Eph 1:13-14, & Eph 4:30)

The only problem with that idea is the Holy Spirit cannot be purchased with money….

Acts 8:14-24

King James Version

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

"Buy" is not literally "buy".
Lamps are not literally lamps. Virgins are not literally virgins per se in that virgins represent something. The parable has components in it. Most of the components are representative. But changing the components is usually done to help somebody's Doctrine along. If we use the same rule that you're using then Jesus was incorrect in talking to the backsliders in the seven letters to the seven churches that had lost their first love. Interesting that Jesus uses the same analogy but they that are backslidden need to go buy gold refined in fire. I doubt someone that's backslidden could go to a coin dealer and buy enough gold to make himself right with God.

Well said and I believe you're on the right track there. I would like to add a couple of things in that the oil indeed does represent the Holy Spirit and it does illuminate the Bible to us, because without the Holy Spirit we would have no understanding at all of the things of God, or his ways, or of Mysteries ....we wouldn't be eliminated, we'd be in the dark.
So I do agree there. But it does much much more, because Jesus said ,"you will receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you..", and Jesus ,when he started his ministry, he received the Holy Spirit and attributed his power to that of the Holy Spirit.
So Jesus said he was leaving the church but he was going to leave the comforter the Holy Spirit through which they would have power over the devil , and they would have power to walk holy and not being Tangled in sin.
that was all done through the power of the Holy Spirit.
But it goes on because speaking in tongues is done under the power of the Holy Spirit, as is signs and wonders .

all done under the power of the Holy Spirit

That's like finding a verse where Mary is a virgin and then transposing that onto a parable about believers. ( the 10 virgin parable)

Then making a connection saying the believers ( 10 virgins) are all female and unmarried because you found a verse that makes them that.
Almost nothing in the parable is NOT symbolic.

You deviated.
Jesus told the back sliders in the seven letters to the seven churches to go and buy gold refined and Fire. He told them how to fix their backslidden condition. So maybe you can use your same methodology on some backslidden believer you come across and direct them to a coin shop, since we're not going to understand that buying in the 10 virgin Parable and buying in the seven letters to the seven churches is not at all anything about buying anything

Also, the gospel of Matthew was directed towards Jews and Jewish Christians. The Jews who have been waiting for millennia for their Messiah do not have the Holy Spirit. And so when Jesus comes, they will see Him and finally realize that all along He was and isntheir Messiah. But the will have missed out on the 1st Resurrection. Now, according to Romans 11, a future remnant of Jews ( Israel) will be saved, but will have to endure through the Great Tribulation. Some will die and some will make it to enter into the Millennail Kingdom. They will repopulate their land. 2/3 in the land will die. This also coincides with " two in the field, one will be taken and one left" when Jesus comes... I guess by that time the other third died already.

It was just an analogy to buy the oil. To buy something first you put forth effort at work and by your actions you get what it takes to buy something.

Same thing sorta about reading the word of God. It taks an effort on our part. It takes an action on our part, but when you read the word the Holy Spirit is right there, the oil flows into you so how much oil will it take to keep the light burning until the Bridegroom comes?

Better get reading a lot, just in case.

The one taken one left is not half earth's population.
It is half the church.
Nowhere is half of earth righteous/half wicked.
So the one taken is the pretrib rapture

There is no other scenario that fits.
Further, the one taken dynamic is Before the Flood. Jesus placed the one taken setting before tge Flood (pretrib rapture)
Pretrib rapture is the only one that fits.

Never said it was half of earth's population. I think 1/3 of earth's population will be saved. The scripture in Matthew is specific to the Jews in Israel during the time of the GT.
"...then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. Yes I sorta agree with that.
In the parable of the virgins the oil is one component of the parable. But that component has several parts. All the virgins had oil .

every one of them had it ,but the wise took extra oil.
so the only thing separating the wise and the foolish was the extra oil that was procured and in their possession.
Another component of the oil is that it could be imparted one virgin to another.
We see this Dynamic of the Holy Spirit In the book of Acts almost every single instance where I believe hed received the baptism of the Holy Spirit ,was through the laying on of hands.
So it was imparted one believer to another. I'm not saying that's the only way a person can get it as far as the baptism of the Holy spirit, but that is the way it happens probably 95% of the time.
Now the next dynamic of the oil component in the parable is that the only reason, and I do mean the only reason, that they did not impart their oil to the foolish was because of the timetable.
if they gave them their oil, then they wouldn't have enough for themselves.
And that's what they told them, "we will not have enough for ourselves".
So they said go to them that sell and get you some.
Now evidently they did just that, but again it was too late, they messed up on their timetable. They just flat out we're not ready, and there's no point in Jesus telling us to be ready, and we ignore it, and then we call for a timeout and say "I'm going to go get ready now", when he's there to pick up his church, and he says," no I gave you warning, I told you to be ready and you aren't ready"... so it will be a sad day for carnal nominal Christians when the Rapture happens.
And those postribbers that deny the Bible and direct words of Jesus.
Jesus told his people" pray that you may be counted worthy to escape the things about to come upon the Earth and stand before the son of man".
Well now look at that.

that's exactly the parable of the ten virgins in a nutshell.

that parable is concerning worthiness verses unworthiness.

you can be ready and you can fill your lamp and fill it to overflowing with extra oil, or you can deal with the Antichrist and be left behind the choice is yours

The Church as it exists _ in Christ _ is ALL raptured at that time of His return Those left behind are not yet in Christ. These would be Jews AND those people who thought they were Christians, but never really believed, were on the fence, nor were they baptized by the Holy Spirit. These are like the foolish virgins who did not have oil.
I think many people have gone through life, attending church on occasion, with a half hearted admiration for Christ but never really made a commitment; nor has anyone seen any changes in them, or fire for the Word. Whe. Christ shows up they will wonder why they weren't included. They will see Him and then believe, but will have to go through the GT, die maybe and have to wait till the 2nd RESURRECTION.
I can imagine the reaction from the world filled with their false religions, the shame and sorrow they will experience, knowing all their lives, they followed after something other than the TRUTH. If they have already taken the mark of the Beast, than it will be too late. But if not, God is merciful. I would like to think half the world's population will be saved.
And what is the "mark of the Beast"?
Earlier I claimed that Islam was the Beast, led by Iran and many countries who are now attacking Israel. Then the mark would be on their hand or forehead. Mark= the words, In the name of Allah. Terrorists wear this phrase on a bandana around their foreheads or on their sleeves.

In the parable of the 10 virgins we notice 5 are called wise and 5 are called foolish.

The foolish took no oil for their lamps, but the wise took oil in their vessels to light their lamp.

I would add, that the 10 had the oil, but the oil didn't equate to a relationship. Because the Groom said to the foolish 5, even with their oil lamps lit, were told, I never knew you.

So could the oil be the Holy Spirit, the Spirit (oil) Who guarantees the 10 virgins inheritance.

I guess if the oil is the bible then having the bible doesn't mean having a relationship with Jesus.
In
Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

So the difference between the virgins was 5 wise had “oil in their vessels”and the 5 foolish had none, which then caused their lamps to go out.

The oil in this parable represents the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit which illuminates our eyes of understanding into Gods written words.
Ok, so the oil represents the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit Who takes from what is in Jesus in heaven and makes it known to us on earth.

This could be concerning for the many who have a limited supply of TRUTH that their lamp could go out before Jesus returns.

I had access to what the Spirit had taken from Jesus Christ the Head in heaven and had given to the His body 2000 years ago. The small percentage that was recorded and remains available to us is extremly low.

But since Jesus and I began relating together directly through our spirit, I can say that we are so much more closer, intimate, personal, focused on our Father than when I relied on second hand information and testimonies.

These days we have a growing number of shared experiences in exploring the Truth. My lamp is a lot more full and the light is so much brighter over the past few years.

In fact it is the Holy Spirit Who is the One Who gets God's truths, God's expressed thoughts, God's words and reveals it to us first. Then it is He Who illuminates these fresh thoughts of God to us.

Yes, so true

Yes, those who have started with the spirit to Spirit relationship with Jesus and continue with that relationship with Christ have no danger or fear of Him saying to them, away from Me I never knew you (our spirits had no relationship with eachother, there was no connection, no rapport, no exchange, no communication, no interrelationship)

I don't know why you change the parable.
But somehow you DO NEED it changed.
Just say you don't know what is going in.
Don't misrepresent Gods word for some belief you have.

Jesus never did say "I never knew you"
You totally misrepresented the parable.

You do not understand salvation.
The parable has ZERO TO DO with salvation.

The parable is, "worthy vs unworthy".
Jesus said," pray that you may be counted worthy to escape the things that are about to come upon the Earth and to stand before the son of God".

When Jesus said that he was pointing directly to the 10 virgin parable.
It seemes that you don't understand there's two kinds of Christians, there's carnal ,and their spiritual.
Paul addressed this heavily in 1st Corinthians and vividly Illustrated the two kinds of Christians.
In heaven at the bema seat rewards will be distributed crowns will be distributed.
They are totally based on worthy versus unworthy.
The crowns have nothing whatsoever to do with salvation.

being a carnal Christian or spiritual Christian has zero to do with either obtaining or losing salvation.
You're trying to make the parable Center on Saved versus unsaved and that is completely opposite of what the parable is about.

...and no truth is not the Holy Spirit. Nor is a level of truth a level of the Holy Spirit.
The devil operates in a level of truth.
The devil has zero Holy Spirit.
