The Bible version would be best.

That was fast.

The bible version is subject to interpretation also.

Nevertheless, I'll take a shot at explaining both.

The Bible say that becoming born again is a spiritual change of heart and a new beginning in your relationship with the Lord. Scripture describes it as born from water and from Spirit. Which I believe is water Baptism and Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The mainstream church says if you say say the sinners then it's carved in stone and you are immediately born again. Amen thank you, Next!

My personal belief leans more to the bible version than the church. With some added speciffics that...I can't really prove but let's say I highly suspect it may be so. For example:

Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.../KJV

This sounds like additional instructions to us, doesnt it? When I got born again and said the prayer and asked forgiveness and did repent of my sins, I was all full of the Holy Spirit and it was a wonderful experience! But the next day I woke up being the same man that I used to be. I wasnt different at all on the outside or in my heart beyond me getting rededicated yesterday and so forth. So I thought what do I do now? I owe the Lord my life! I knew that. So I picked up the Word and got serious about studying it and learning about God. Everybody knows that sanctification is a process which happens over a period of time. Most think that the Lord does all stuff Himself! But we are supposed to cooperate and do our part also. Stop conforming to the world by participating in it, do not learn any more ways of the world
And saturate your mind with the Word of God (we study to show ourselves approved, right?) and it is this part of studying the word that transforms you by renewing your mind. I dumped so much of the Lord into my mind that the cup of my mind overflowed and washed out a lot of bad things from previously. I still didnt "feel" bor again. I only knew I was. Then (well, and throughout that) I began putting the bug in the Lords ear!
Hi Lord, it's me again...and he eventually taught me how to hear His till soft voice (because He could because I had washed my mind with the renewing of the word...!

But I did notice that my heart was changing I was reacting to certain situations like, I never had before. Like I had a new heart. And one day he just showed up and Baptised me in the Spirit. Out of the blue. I wasnt praying or reading or anything, and there He is with the strongest presence of the Holy Spirit that I have ever felt before! Or since, actually! Now I do feel bor again!

He told me that He is only able to come inside of us and repair damage to my soul when I am in His presence! That sorta blew my mind a little. Oh, and when we sleep. So in prayer we are in His presence and in worship.

So later I had to wonder...are people really born again as soon as they say the sinners prayer like the church says? Or does the actual "born again" come with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I'm tellin you Brother, it felt like a promotion!

WHat do you think?

I love your answer and it is the biblical answer too but you might not have noticed it.

You said “And saturate your mind with the Word of God (we study to show ourselves approved, right?) and it is this part of studying the word that transforms you by renewing your mind.”

And the Bible says:

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Too many people ignorantly believe saved and born again are the same thing but they are not. There are multitudes that are saved but not yet born again which is why they can’t SEE nor ENTER the kingdom of heaven that comes without observation.

Well how about that, someone agrees with me! That's awesome Brother. (I did say I lean to to the Bible version!)

I feel like I got promoted to Corporal or something. ...and the Lord said...how would you like to try for Sargeant?! Lol. We talked about this before (and scriptuure does too!) that if I want to climb the mountain of God that I should be aware of a few things. (UH-Oh).
It get real steep real fast and the more elevation that you attain, the further you fall when you stumble, so the more damage that you will do to yourself as comared to standing at the bottom and fall down.
But the higher you climb the more you can behold and see. To whom more is given, more will be required.

Scripture liken it to swimming in the Spirit. At first he is ankle deep. Then shin deep. knee deep, waist deep chest deep up to your neck deep, and then over your head and swimming in the Spirit of the Lord. Dont drown if you cant swim!

I havent made sargeant yet. I hope I dont lose my stripe somwhow! That would be bad but is possible.

This what being born again literally means.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

I suggest John 3 and starting with verse 1 explains that being born again and saved are synonymous.
We have to be born again so to be saved from our naturally born dead in spirit condition when first entering this world

I think adding work on our part to that of the saving grace of God and his seal of eternal life redemption through his sacrifice for our sin's on the cross discredits that sacrifice.

I don't believe we can save ourselves even by implication we have to do something more than Christ did so as to earn or achieve that result.

I think the children of Israel wandering in the desert is probably one of the best illustrations of salvation and the 2nd birth.

All of the children of Israel that came out of Egypt were covered by the blood. This foreshadows a saved Christian saved by the blood of Jesus.

When it was time to enter the promised land only two of the original group was allowed to enter into the land because they had faith in God that they could possess the land.

This foreshadows the Christian entering into the kingdom of heaven which unless one is born again, they can not even see that kingdom of God, let alone enter into that kingdom.

None of that required work on anyone’s part other than having faith in God and his word.

Most Christian’s don’t even understand that the promised land was foreshadowing the life of the believer walking in the kingdom of heaven on earth.

Good video.
I don't think anyone is able to criticize Chuck Missler's work when they haven't read or watched his teachings.

I think you're right! Chuck still has a slew of material on youtube.

I've been listening to Chuck since the 90s

Have you read the Hidden Treasures book by Chuck Missler?
No. as I have written, I posted on the title of the book and how many books with similar type titles are dangerous. Whether Missler is off or not, I do not know. But the title raises a red flag and should for all until you can learn what is being written.

Well< i watched teh short video. the only complaint I have is the title. Given teh amount of garbage out there trying to sell "hidden meanings", it would have been better to give the book a different name.

I have used the meanings of names many times .

Wat5ched it and I have no problem with his teaching. I have done the same kind of teaching myself. However as I wrote to someone else, given the vast number of false teachers writing about "hidden meanings" in the bible to promote false doctrine, I would see a different title to avoid the possible cautions it brins.

That's a very unique perspective. Thank you for sharing.
I opened this discussion so to enlist the feedback of those who may be aware of his work.

I think the title is fair given what Chuck Missler uncovers from inside the text.

Jesus preached using parables.

I just watched it. I have done teachings like that many times. It is the title that lends itself to be misunderstood given the many false teachers who have written books on "hidden meanings".
It's not to be misunderstood if someone is not predisposed to painting a new author with the brush of past experience.

In the case of Church Missler's work TBD title is an ideal synopsis for what his research later uncovered and provides the reader or viewer of his videos.

Jesus taught in parables to hide the truth from the masses. But that does not make the bible one massive parable. The parables are clearly defined by the language Jesus used.

NO offense to Mr. Blake but if the bible says black it is black no matter what anyone thinks.

If there were not so many false teachers writing and selling books hawking "hidden meanings" that are nothing more than their fanciful heresies, I would agree. but given how that phrase has come to connote an entire heretical category of books and teachings, it becomes an unneccessary red flag that would probably keep many readers away from what is a good teaching.

The Bible is nothing but hidden messages, that’s how God hides his truth from the world and reveals it his own.
