The Catholic Latin Vulgate was translated 1600 years ago.

Full of “weird stuff”?? Like what??
You have once again FAILED to show me the differences.

Would you like me to school to about that?
The Catholic Bible I have is so big and full of commentary and twisted scriptures. I can’t even start to show them to you. You may have to pull yours out and compare it to the king James Bible. You’ll see the difference.

My Catholic Bible is also full of pictures of Saints to pray to. It has a picture of Mary with a halo on some type of a throne as a queen of heaven. Scary stuff.

When Jesus said to baptize in the name of the son, did he think that his name was son or that they should baptize in the name of the son, which is Jesus?
He didn't say that.
He said to Baptize in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the
Holy Spirit

Are you really this dense - or is it just a joke?

Soooo - you actually believe that the ONLT differences are pictures and commentaries??

WOW - you're really NOT very bright - are ya?
I'll help you out -
YOUR Bible had 7 Books removed from it.
Can you NAME those Books and WHY they your Protestant Fathers removed them?

What is the name of the son per Matt 28:19?

Because the seven books that you are talking about contradict the others.

No - he hates Christianity in general.

I wouldn't call you obstinate - just confused . . .
Like I said Bread....I won't be debating with you.
I'm not too sure God is happy about all this debating.
I WILL discuss important topics, which to me are - maybe - 3:
Eternal Security and how its misunderstood.
Incorrect statements made about the CC.
Calvinism.

As you know from years past....I don't like the method you use too much.
But to each our own.

Who’s “mad”??

I was just stating facts.

If anybody is “mad” here – it’s YOU . . .

I said that you were confused – but now I’ll add “obstinate” to that list.

Now you’re being dishonest because I already sent you a quote from Epiphanus’ work, Panarion (Refutation of All Heresies, AD 350), that speaks of
Mary’s Assumption.

As for the Councils – I never confused them with Early Church writings.
Ecumenical Councils are Authoritative. NOT all of the writings were.

You may think you know about the Catholic Church – but you are definitely lacking in knowledge and have spiritual pride to spare . . .
I read your post on Epiphanus.
It's not enough and it doesn't really say too much.
Another member sent me a lot of stuff that I printed out.

You made a statement about early writings and councils that didn't sound right....
it could have been the way you wrote it --- I know you're very knowlegeable.

As to me being confused....
As I said, I'm not planning to learn from you and I'm probably lacking in some knowledge.
Spiritual Pride....maybe; after all the dumb stuff I read at times.

I couldn’t agree with you more . . .

And what did God (Jesus) say about that to His Church?

Matt 16:19, 18:15-18

WHATEVER YOU BIND on earth shall be bound in heaven, and WHATEVER YOU LOOSE on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

John 16:12-15
“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to ALL truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to YOU the things that are coming.
He will glorify me, because he will TAKE from what is MINE and declare it to YOU.
Everything that the Father has is MINE; for this reason I told you that he will TAKE from what is MINE and declare it to YOU.

Luke 10:16

Whoever listens to YOU listens to ME. Whoever rejects YOU rejects ME. And whoever rejects ME rejects the ONE who sent ME."

GOD said that . . .
Jesus said many things we pay little attention to.
He also said we should be of one mind.

You're a tough cookie Bread.
But I know we agree on more than you may think.

Can you answer the question for BOL?

Can you explain for me, please to BOL that Jesus meant to baptize in his name when he said, baptizing them in the name of the son?

No Truther.
@BreadOfLife is correct on this.

What you don't seem to be able to grasp is the difference between
a TYPE
and
a FORM
of baptism.

In the Name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit is a FORM,,,,words that are said to baptize.
Jesus gave this instruction in Matthew 28:19 when He sent the Apostles out to teach and baptize.

In the NAME OF JESUS.....is a TYPE of baptism.
It's to distinguish between the baptism of John and the baptism of Jesus.

John came to prepare the way.
To forgive sins.

Jesus came to FINISH His work...to be our atonement.
His baptism would be with fire and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:11
11“As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Now, I can sympathize with you because it's difficult to let go of what we've known or believed all our lives....
but maybe we need to mature and just follow the road wherever it leads us.

The baptism road you're on will never bring you to the truth because it's necessary to understand what baptizing in the Name of Jesus means.

Where is Mary's body??? Did those present, Apostles or not, hide it???
Nobody hid her body. Its burial site is just unknown to us centuries later. Like James' burial site. Like Stephen's. Like many, many others. Unknown grave site does not mean assumption of remains. The lack of first century mention of Mary's Assumption should be enough to dispel the myth.

See post 614.
@Jude Thaddeus sent me some links on the above.

I don't have a different reason,,,,,actually we're in the same boat.

I'm saying that it IS possible that God just didn't want her immaculate body to be buried.

So if you don't accept that God could do this - He who created the universe - I can't really be of any help since I myself am looking for some support.

I do want to remind you of Enoch and Elijah.

It couldn't be the same?
Were they born without the sin nature?
Anything's possible.

Hmmmm . . .
Maybe you should let Paul and Peter know that because they Baptized the ENTIRE HOUSEHOLDS of the Philippian Jailer, Stephanas and Cornelius.

Imagine that . . .
What version are you using that says ENTIRE household?

If we are going to jump to conclusions Cornelius might have had a dog in his house as a gentile. So obviously this means dogs should be baptized too.

Acts 16:33 – Household of the Philippian Jailer
And he (Paul) took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, HE AND ALL HIS FAMILY.

1 Cor. 1:16 - Household of Stephanas
Yes, I also baptized the HOUSEHOLD OF STEPHANAS; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.

Finally - whereas, Acts 10:47-48 doesn’t say the word “ALL” – it definitely says that the household of Cornelius was Baptized.

If we are going to jump to conclusions Cornelius might have had a dog in his house as a gentile. So obviously this means dogs should be baptized too.
Now, you’re just being silly.

You know that Baptism only applies to humans because ONLY humans are made in God’s imiage.

Is this incorrect?...

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of JESUS, and of the Holy Ghost:

....like Peter and all those in Acts baptized?
