The translators know how to do their job. You are in error when you automatically assume and apply meanings to words that aren't a direct definition of the original word used and its English translation!
I don’t try to rethink the translators by picking up a modern Greek translation into English from a modern scholar. I just get an old English dictionary if I have a problem with a word.

Who said anything about modern Greek? No one. I said Koine Greek which is ancient Greek, the original language used. Again, you are in error when you automatically assume and apply modern-day meanings to archaic words that aren't a direct definition of the original Koine Greek word used and its English translation, like you do with "brothers."

The Bible says God has preserved His word.
Good to know. Meanwhile, the oldest Greek manuscripts of NT writings we have do not all agree on the wording. The discipline of Textual Criticism attempts to discern the actual original wording in various ways. I guess you think those scholars all have their heads up their asses.

Bingo, you admit the RCC created these "church father" diaries.
Truther, you're missing the forest for the trees.

The Early Church Fathers WERE Catholic, as were ALL Christians in the first centuries. There were NO OTHER Christian churches then. NONE. ZERO. NILL.

The Orthodox splintered off in 1054 A.D. Here's a video explaining what happened then:

Protestantism didn't start until the 16th century and has continaully strayed from the fullness of truth Christ gave mankind.

BTW, if you want to be accurate, the offical title of the Church isn't the "Roman" Catholic Church. It's just the Catholic Church. The "Roman" part was proposed in the 16th century by Protestants (Anglicans, if I recall, but I'm not 100%?) as an insult.

I said modern Greek redefinitions. The KJV translators need no redefinitions to the words they chose already. Bible bashers need new definitions.

All these church fathers and their so called writings were part of the great falling away, leading to the ultimate sin of dismissing baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

It was all set up by satan to eliminate the plan of salvation....

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

So, the Church founded by Jesus Christ, of which He promised that the gates of hell would never prevail against (Matt. 16:18), in your opinion. failed. And the gates of hell did prevail over His Church. That would make Jesus a liar, would it not? And that would mean we're all wasting our time.

Refer to Luke 22:31-32, where Jesus is addressing Simon (Peter):

“Simon, Simon, behold Satan has demanded to sift all of you like wheat, but I have prayed that your own faith may not fail; and once you have turned back, you must strengthen your brothers.”

What does it mean to "sift?" It means to divide and divide and divide, just as Protestantism has done since its inception about 500 years ago, coming up with more and more and more man-made, doctrinally contradicting doctrines based on personal interpretation of Scripture, which St. Peter warns against in 2 Peter 1:20-21. And who is doing the "sifting?" Satan!

but I have prayed that your own faith may not fail;

It appears that anti-Catholics unwittingly assert that The Father ignored Jesus' prayer.
Worse, anti-Catholics have invented a new doctrine, that the gates of hell have prevailed. Jesus promised that would never happen or Jesus is a liar.

You don't want to refer to modern Greek for archaic text... Also, you are in error when you automatically assume and apply modern-day meanings to archaic words that aren't a direct definition of the original Koine Greek word used and its English translation, like you do with "brothers."

It's impossible to have a discussion with a person who doesn't understand plain English, that has multiple meanings for "brother" as affirmed by numerous biblical languages. Strong's Concordance must be wrong, the reformers must be wrong, the Early Church Fathers must be consistently wrong. Defending 170 year old man made traditions is more important than the truth. Sad.

Well, hell, nor the RCC etc, did not stop me and millions of others from obeying Acts 2:38.

Satan lost.

The church is getting back to the original.

Listen, the KJV translators need not be corrected by theses modern, phony PHD's.

They got it right 400 years ago.

All you need is an old dictionary for old English words. (Probably about 10 or so words).

The ancient Greek is a dead language in modern times, so if the ancient translators put it into English, we are good.

The farther we get from the original, the more polluted it gets.

For instance, Christendom started pure like snow at a mountain peak, but as it flowed downstream, it began to pick up pollutants. It is now a stagnant swamp.

The Bible works the same way, as it has thousands of modern day pollutants per endless translations that say different things.

The closer we get to Christ, Who is the light of the world, the more clearly we see truth.

Conversely, the further we get from Christ, the less clearly we see truth.

The Catholic Church has never changed a doctrine handed to her by Christ. ALL of the Protestant Reformers were Catholic before they left. They are the ones that began straying from the constant teachings of Christ.

Just because the Catholic Church teaches something that doesn't agree with your personal interpretation of Scripture does not, in any way, mean that the Catholic Church is in error. It actually means that you are. You have strayed far enough from Christ to be blinded to His truths. I'll pray for you.

The RCC is the worst thing to ever happen to Christendom.

She is the mother of all of the Acts skippers that ever lived and are now alive.

Strongs is a perfect example of modern, anti-KJV redefinitionists.

He alone, attempted to debunk the 57 ancient translators, with having only an honorary degree.

And folks believe every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of James Strong, every Sunday.

The RCC was the first organization to ban this practice...

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,...

And all of her protestant daughters took it even further, by banning baptism entirely.

Now the whole thing is a stagnant swap of people that draw swords against Peter and his message to all to obey Acts 2:38.

Do you consider the Apostolic Fathers (students of the Apostles) as being part of the "great falling away"?

curious Mary
