Then you are, in your own eyes, and by your own admission, at perfect liberty to set aside the commandment of God by your tradition.
At perfect liberty to pray without ceasing, yep!
It wasn’t my idea, as you say.
It was Paul’s Teaching, you know that guy Jesus chose and separated to be a Teacher unto the Gentiles?
1 Thes 5:

Pray without ceasing.
Daniel is testified to have prayed 3 times daily as a matter of habit. I wonder if he made the commandment of God of none effect.
Not news. Hebrews and Tribesmen were taught like little children, little bit by little bit.
Hey kids, Here is ONE day to set aside unto the Lord God....practice it, keep practicing it, till it becomes a habit. Careful you do not become as the Heathens ... repetitious to none effect.
Not a newsflash to observe some Churches Teaching, the robotic repetitive parading, pause here, gesture this, pause there, gesture that, say this, say this, say this, repeat, repeat, repeat over and over week after week the parading, the gesturing, the repetitive prayers......AS IF God is deaf? Missed last weeks performance?
Nowhere is is it specifically stated that he kept the 4th commandment so, by post-modern, evangelical reckoning, we could rightfully conclude that he kept no Sabbath.
Would Daniel praying 3x’s a day, include Every day?
