I've been lucky and haven't had my power out for years. We had a transformer blow a few years back but that was random.
We've had a few extended blackouts over the years, one from a direct hit from Hurricane Fran, another from a freak snowstorm that dumped 19 inches (48cm for you metric folks) on us in one night, yet another from freezing rain that took down the power lines. (Nasty stuff, that freezing rain.) A couple of years back, we had a guy come out and give us an estimate on a back-up generator that would run off the gas lines, which are underground and usually not affected by the weather. I couldn't see dropping $13K, so we didn't do it, but I know the next time we have an extended power outage, the Sweet Lady is gonna let me hear about it.

@Lambano Sounds like Mrs Lambano thinks it would be a good idea to invest in a back up generator.....

13K is a lot of money for a generator. Wow.

Today, Im headed to Surf City, NC for my brother's wedding. I'm so excited!

I have lost six pounds in the last two weeks. Ive been intermittent fasting, exercising, eating less carbs, and stopping meals at 70 percent full.
Good work Wynona! I hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding.

Great day. Lawns got mowed by my lawn man. I could do this myself but mostly asleep in the day ready for night shift. Finally good to see the sun. Heavy rain has stopped. Side note: if you come to NZ in the winter time don't bother with an umbrella. It will not survive against the wind and heavy rain here :)

Walked out this morning in the bright sun, walked to my moms house and sat a chair not to far from the house looking down in the holler there was the neighbors yard with 5 horses, and in another field 3 cows. There house was seen as well, but the scenery was beautiful. How wonderful God is. Not the best mood this morning as my flesh is calling out for different things and trying to put it down is hard to do without Christ. Also got to speak to my brother for a moment, and some other person after having went for a walk. May go out and mow the grass out front, or may go out and walk the log in the yard, or move bricks around to get some exercise. Cooked and made breakfast and washed the dishes and swept the floors up in the house, need to mop.
