I was thinking about this the other day...
I think I was about 13/14 ish and a girl grabbed me by the hand and started telling me Jesus loves me.
She asked me to sit with her, she was about my age maybe a little older, and I did.
She prayed for me. And I got up and said thankyou. Never really thought about it until the other day.
Now I can't remember her name or if I ever knew it, and I can't see her face. I just remember her grabbing my hand.
An unsung angel?

Idk. Somebody's singing alleluia
:D

I had a girl bring me to youth groups at her church and she is one of the reasons I was converted. I also had a brother from the church invite me to boyscout meetings. We were friends and it was nice.

I see we are on the pinnacle right now friend and the pendulum can go either way.
There are poeple putting their very lives on the line fighting against what is HERE.
Not coming, it's HERE now.
And they are going to roll out the red carpet soon enough.
Have you ever heard of project blue beam?
They are going to fake a return of the Lord. They will point it to the sky like a movie theatre screen and all the world will be amazed.
They been spraying so much aluminum in the skies over the last decades to "reflect" the images they will project.
Don't fall for it.
The KINGDOM of GOD is within us.
Remember that. Not here or there.

Sorry to derail the thread devin.. :(

Here's the thing...

A lot of people are going to try and run from this because they know something isn't right.
We've already had a couple saying they don't know why they been led here.
God is calling a LOT of people right now to come out of Babylon.
They are looking for the truth. And they are afraid. Because what they thought was normal is being exposed to them.
I call this being red pilled. Meaning they are being woken up from the hypnotism the world has been put under.
Many will start flocking to lot of christian forums looking for answers.
They are being called.
I know our first reaction is with cautiousness and doubt, and we need to stay on guard.
But also we need to listen to what they are saying because even they don't know what's going on.
But we as christians do.
There is going to be a flood of new converts. Be patient. Be gentle. Be kind.
We are talking about people coming from some very questionable backgrounds. Never been to church. Only ever heard the name of Jesus as a sware word. And such were some of us, and they are going to need guidence.

I don't know how to stress this enough. The gates of heaven are open to all those who are called to be saved.
And they will come. And we need to be ready with love and hospitality and charity. Real charity.
They are going to be freaking out. That which is coming is going to take a lot of people by surprise.
They been so caught up in their own world, they're not looking at what's happening around them.

Time is short. And the flood is coming. A flood of people that are being called today.
And there are forces trying to hold them back. Telling them if they come then they will lose everything.
Their friends, their family, their classmates, their gangs even.
And they will be strongly pulled in both directions. They will need our help and our prayers.
This is not a time to be stubborn. Cautious yes.
God is going to give another outpouring and it's going to be HUGE.

We have to be careful not to be overtaken by the flood. Do not turn to the left or to the right.
Stay the course. Stand still and you will see the salvation of the Lord before your very eyes.

It's here brother, and many are beginning to flee babylon. They don't know where to go. They are being scattered from the flocks they once knew into a whole new situation.
It's going to be BIBLICAL

Great and inspiring post Ziggy, I thought I would add a little scripture to go along those lines if I can:

Luke 6

27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

Luk 10:1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
Luk 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Luk 10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Luk 10:4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
Luk 10:5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
Luk 10:6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
Luk 10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Luk 10:8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
Luk 10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
Luk 10:10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
Luk 10:11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
Luk 10:12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

Being in this kind of setting is as those coming to this house, this city.
And we need to greet them in Peace. And if our peace rests upon them, mutual respect a willingness to hear the word, then also be open and willing to listen to what they share. They are coming from the outside and will have many terrifying stories (testimonies) to share.
And many wolves will try to come in among them and get us arguing with each other.
Now is the time to put away our petty arguments and get serious.
The ones that come in deliberately trying to wage us against each other, either ignore or report.
The ones seeking sincere truth, pray with them, share your testimony with them, go slow.

Most important is that we need to stick together and not be seperated. This is a good house.
And we all come from different walks and point of views and different doctrines, what have you.
But this is a GOOD HOUSE!
Don't let anyone try to divide it.

I Love you ALL
God Bless
Hugs

We speak as humans the language of the bible and when inspired the language God provides. You have a good point though. Let's not take credit for winning over a convert. But that doesn't mean we sit idly by. We must use the Holy Spirit to guide us to help win over coverts. We should be Gods helpers.
Here are some scriptures about witnessing, winning souls, converting sinners to Christ, etc.
Proverbs 11:30
[30]The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

James 5:19-20
[19]Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
[20]Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23
[19]For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
[20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
[21]To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
[23]And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

Ezekiel 3:20-21
[20]Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
[21]Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Acts 1:8
[8]But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Mark 16:15-16
[15]And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
[16]He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Colossians 4:2-6
[2]Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
[3]Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
[4]That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
[5]Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
[6]Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Jude 1:21-23
[21]Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
[22]And of some have compassion, making a difference:
[23]And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

This is in response to a thread I was watching where the agnostic or atheist clearly wasn't interested in Christianity and was attacking people.

The question: Do you try to convert someone who is clearly not interested, is getting frustrated and attacking you?

I grew up in a church that would not engage with that person under those circumstances and would say that we're not helping them but hurting their future prospects.

Also this applies to missionary work on or off the internet.

Debate...

When I come across someone like this and they have come to church, I usually just talk to them. The main thing is that they came and they are not there by chance. I would also probably invite them to come for lunch at my place after service or if there is a potluck after church, I would probably try to talk with them there. My main aim would be to listen to their story and try to understand what has happened to them and how they ended up in Church. It's a starting point and that's what we want. An opportunity to friend them and show them that you really care about whatever they are going through or whatever their story is......Love is the key!

The time to give up on someone is when the Spirit prompts to do so! there is no formula. sometimes a person has a very hardened shell and through persistence we can break through. Other times we are given one conversation aqnd the Spirit will tell us to shale the dust off our feet.

@Ronald Nolette In the end it is the Spirit Who opens hearts in any case; cf. Lydia in Acts 16: 'whose heart the Lord opened'. It's not the supposed brilliance of our advocacy that brings blessing.

We are not called to push our beliefs on others and I wonder sometimes why agnostics or atheists come on this site at all unless it is to cause unrest.

I think a lot depends on what they want to talk about, are they genuine in the questions they ask. It can't be a one size fits all and we must use some discernment.

With some you get that bad 'vibe' right from the off and I find it better to steer clear of troublemakers.

If it was in a real life situation such as in church, a person wouldn't need to approach somebody they weren't comfortable about without support.

A lady came into our church one day thinking she was coming into a car-boot sale. She had no idea that she was coming to a church meeting as we were all using the back door. After the meeting we all went to somebody's house for a barbecue and the lady - Tricia - was asked to come to. During that afternoon a lot of people spoke to her and made her welcome and I arranged to meet her the following week for a coffee. She asked me if it was true what she'd heard that to be a christian you have to give your life to Jesus. I eventually got the privilege, with my husband, of baptising her.
