1 Corinthians 3:17
“If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

Whatever one thinks of faith based tattoos, the actual context of this passage is those who profess but are unrepentant of of ungodly behaviour.

A girl wanting to talk to her friends about John 3.16 and with the ref. or quote on her wrist is not the sort of thing that the verse is talking about.

I know plenty of people with tats.
Friends before they had tats. Friends after they had tats. Tattoos do not define who are my friends.

Yes farouk, I can understand Why..
But faith isn't written with ink on your body. It's what you say, it's what you do that matters.
I could get a tattoo that says I'm a millionaire, it doesn't make it true.
Personally I don't like to stand out in a crowd. I like to be unnoticed.
I can understand how some would like the opportunity to explain their beliefs through symbols and outward appearance.
I am not one of those. But I can still understand it.
It's just not for me.

Funny you should ask..
I went to Dad's last week and on the way home I saw that sign again.
It was an old Library. I think it was called Frank Piercings Library, but only the Piercings was capitalized.
I assumed it was a tattoo shop.
I thought, I need to tell farouk it wasn't what I thought it was.
So here we are.. lol

People at the Conference were surprised..
- There was a session on tattoos!

The Conference was about 'spiritual maturuty,
gifts & ministry calling'.

My guess is ..tattoos session was added.
- Because it might be helpful for those involved in ministry..to know about tattoos.

The session was balanced..not too much negative.
- Instructor had experience..outreach ministry to
people with tattoos.

@Pathfinder7 Seems from what you say it was a while ago, anyway; and in fact all the young ppl tattooed with Bible verses with whom I have talked seem to have had them done for witness purposes, anyway.

As per the conference tattoo session that you mentioned, seems like it's a well established trend for ppl to do for witness reasons, right?

I have tattoos and don’t care if people like them or not. Thankful I did not get a tattoo that was regrettable in any case. Have thought about getting a new one which is a cross on top of my hand, reminding me of the Lord and to live for him daily which is hard for some even a struggle due to lack of understanding and knowledge.

Hi @MatthewG From what you recently said, maybe in relation to your possible current tattoo plans, you perhaps saw what others have said about getting theirs, such as Rita, for example:

@Lambano Well, it depends what you mean, I guess.

For a lot of ppl it seems they are an option among many.

An EMT friend of my wife's recommends against tongue piercings. They can be problematic if first responders have to insert an airway.

So that FISH <>< is a symbol and i use it here..

@Behold Some ppl do indeed use the Christian fish symbol <>< as a witness tool tattooed on their wrist or other placement...
